IMS Kirtipur and Budhanilkantha won the fifth Nakhipot Open Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament on Monday.

Kirtipur defeated Boudha by a score of 68-60. Winner Abhishek Singh scored 29. Kirtipur, who trailed 14-9 and 13-18 in the first two quarters, came back to win. Kirtipur led 17-11 in the third and 24-12 in the fourth.

Budhanilkantha defeated Golden Gate by a score of 79-74 in an exciting match, with Vijay Lama scoring 19. Golden Gate was leading 58-48 by the end of the third quarter. Golden Gate performed 13-21 in the first, 24-12 in the second, and 24-15 in the third. Budhanilkantha won the game by a wide margin of 31-16 in the fourth and won the game by a 5-point margin.

In the men's category, Dari defeated Playbox 82-53 and Solo defeated Dharan 79-66. Dari's Bikram Dangol scored 19 and Solo's Pragun Maharjan scored 27.

In the women's category, Stars Grande defeated Budhanilkantha 49-35 in the tournament being held at the covered hall of the host Nakhipot Youth Club in Nakhipot. Stars' Rinchen Moktan scored 18. This is Budhanilkantha's first defeat in two matches.
