Bagmati Province, which had lost two consecutive matches, has achieved its first victory in the U-19 National Women's T-20 Cricket Championship.

Bagmati opened the winning account in the competition by defeating Koshi Pradesh by 23 runs in the match played at Kalungchowk ground in Surkhet on Monday. Batting first after winning the toss, Bagmati scored 169 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. The century partnership between openers Sevika Kumari Yadav and Pratha Shrestha was decisive in Bagmati's big score. Both of them put the team in a strong position by putting up a partnership of 123 runs for the first wicket. Sevika scored 66 runs in 47 balls with the help of 11 fours, while Pratha contributed 61 runs in 48 balls with 11 fours. Sevika was caught by Shubheksha Limbu off Tika Shahi's ball, while Pratha was bowled by Khimkala Ghimire.

Chasing a target of 170 runs to win, Koshi put in some excellent individual performances but was limited to 146 runs due to poor collective batting. Prinsa Rana Magar scored 41, Tika Shah 37 and Purnima Rajbanshi 20. Even the 33 runs scored in the extra innings were not enough for Koshi.

With this win, Bagmati has added its first two points in the tournament, while Koshi has lost a crucial point. This is also Bagmati's highest score in the tournament so far.
