The Mayor's Cup Football Tournament-2083 is to be held in Hetauda, Makawanpur. The Mayor's Cup Football Tournament is to be held at the playground in Padampokhari under the organization of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City and in coordination with Ward No. 13.
At a press conference held on Sunday, Ward Chairman Pemba Lama informed that 19 teams will participate in the tournament to be held from Ashad 5 to 12.
The winning team of the tournament will receive a prize of Rs 200,000 and the runner-up will receive a prize of Rs 100,000. Similarly, the best player will be given a cash prize of Rs 25,000, while the best players and coaches in various disciplines will also be honored with cash prizes, informed the organizing Ward Sports Development Committee Chairman Amrit Lungbu.
It is estimated that about Rs 2 million will be spent to run the tournament. Out of which Rs 1 million will be provided by the Sub-metropolitan City.
According to the organizers, the tournament is expected to develop football at the local level and make a significant contribution in producing new and talented players.
