The half-centuries of Tika Shah and Prinsa Rana Magar from Koshi Province on the second day of the ongoing U-19 National Women's T-20 Cricket Tournament in Birendranagar were overshadowed by the excellent performance of Sana Parbin from Madhesh Province.

Madhesh started the tournament with a victory by defeating Koshi in the match held at Kalungchowk Ground on Saturday. Sana dominated alone in Madhesh's victory. She played a brilliant innings of 52 not out and gave the team an easy victory.

With two runs needed to win in the third ball of 16 overs, Sana, who was playing on 48 runs, hit a boundary to complete her half-century and end the match. She scored 52 runs in 49 balls with seven boundaries.

Sana was well supported by Sakshi Yadav from the other side. When Sakshi was playing on 46 runs, she took a single run and gave strike to Sana, which gave Sana the opportunity to complete her half-century.

After Elisha Yadav and Shivani Sah were dismissed early, Sakshi made a crucial partnership with Sana for the third wicket. She scored 46 runs with eight fours in 40 balls.

Shubheksha Limbu took two wickets for Koshi. Earlier, Koshi, who had won the toss and elected to bat first, had scored 122 runs for the loss of three wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. After Purnima Rajbanshi was dismissed for naught, Tika Shah and Prinsa Rana Magar took charge of the innings.

Tika scored 51 runs with 11 fours in 36 balls, while Prinsa scored an unbeaten 55 runs. Facing 68 balls, Prinsa hit nine fours to score her first half-century of the tournament. Shortly after that, Tika also completed her half-century.

Lumbini, which defeated home team Karnali by 54 runs in the first match of the tournament, lost to Gandaki by five wickets in the second match. Lumbini, who had won the toss and batted first at the Birendranagar ground, were all out for 63 runs in 18.3 overs.

Except for Anjali Pathak who scored 13 and Yojana Thapa who scored 12 runs, no other batsman could touch double figures. Gandaki's Kushum Godar and Player of the Match Rachana Chaudhary took three wickets each. Both of them gave away only eight runs each. Ranjana Saund took two wickets.

Chasing a target of 64 runs, Gandaki achieved the target in 12.4 overs for the loss of five wickets. Jyotsinika Marasini and Deepika Sapkota scored 16 runs each to give the team their second consecutive win. Lumbini's Aashna Chaudhary and Ayusha Bhusal took two wickets each, while Vimita Magar took one wicket. Gandaki has strengthened its position in the points table with its second consecutive win.
