FIDE Master Kshitij Bhandari has won the title of the Nationwide First Ward Chairman's Cup Open FIDE Rapid Rating Intelligence Tournament organized by Kathmandu Metropolitan City-10. Kshitij, the highest ranked 2200 rated player of the tournament, became the undefeated winner with 8.5 points after winning 8 and drawing 1 in 9 rounds.

While the three players scored 7.5 points, CM Sushrut Dahal came second on the basis of tiebreak points. 2119 rated youth Sushrut got Rs 30,000. 2046 rated Dhiren Rai came third with Rs 24,000 and Sabinchandra Ghimire came fourth with Rs 14,000.
Players who managed to occupy the fifth to tenth positions each won Rs 10,000 prizes.
Riya Shrestha came first in the women's category. She won Rs 12,000 prizes. Awards were given to all age groups, rating groups, unrated, and best local in the competition.
