DAV defeated KMC School by 94 runs in the first quarterfinal at the Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground on Saturday. DAV, which won the toss, scored 157 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Aarush Jha top-scored with 59 runs in 46 balls, including 6 fours and 1 six. Kamal Shahi contributed 41 and Prasidh Jaisi contributed 26 runs in 18 balls. KMC's Shrijal Bhatta took 2 and Amit Kumar Das took 1 wicket.
Chasing a target of 158 runs, KMC was bundled out for 63 runs in 13.2 overs. Amit Kumar Das scored 15 and Bidhan Sapkota scored 11 runs, but they could not lead the team to victory. DAV's Kunjan Acharya took 6 wickets for the loss of 17 runs. Keshav Agarwal, Tanish Shah, Prasidh Jaisi and Kamal Shahi took 1 wicket each. Kunjan Acharya was declared the Pick Point Player of the Match.
In the second quarterfinal, Sainik Amavi defeated Api School by 1 wicket. Api, who won the toss, was all out for 83 runs in 19.2 overs. Yugant Karki scored 34 runs while Kusum Prasad added 12 runs. Sainik's Abhash KC took 3 wickets and Safal Poudel took 2 wickets. Chasing a target of 84 runs, Sainik School achieved the target in 19.5 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Sushant Nepal scored 24 and Abhash KC scored an unbeaten 20 runs. In the final over, Shubham Bista scored an unbeaten 9 runs in 3 balls to give the team a thrilling victory.
Api's Ekendra Budha took 3 wickets and Srijal Karki took 2 wickets. Abhash KC was named the Player of the Match.
DAV will now play the winner of the match between Mokshada and James in the semi-finals on Monday. Sainik will play the winner of the match between Nepal Police School and Ratna Rajya Mavi, the organiser Kathmandu District Cricket Association has said.
