The ‘Pritanpati Trophy-2083’ organized by the Northwest Pritana Headquarters of the Nepal Army has started in Surkhet from Tuesday.
The competition has been organized with the aim of developing physical fitness, mental strength, leadership skills and a healthy competitive spirit among the soldiers.
Inaugurating the competition, Pritanapati Lieutenant General Dipesh Jung Shah said that there will be a competition in eight categories including football, volleyball, basketball, boxing, judo, athletics, swimming and taekwondo among players from various battalions and units under Pritana.
He said that the competition will help in identifying the best players, developing sports talent and further strengthening the sports culture within the Nepal Army. He said that sports are an effective means of enhancing the professional skills of soldiers and strengthening organizational unity.

The players and teams selected from the competition will participate in the upcoming 'Chief of Army Staff Trophy-2083'.
