The second season of the Nepal Kabaddi League (NKL), which was scheduled to begin on 22nd Jestha, has been postponed.

The tournament, which was scheduled to be held at the Rakhep Covered Hall in Tripureshwor, has been postponed, organizer Astronix Management said in a statement on Monday.

The statement said, ‘While preparations are underway in line with our commitment to make NKL Season 2 more organized, safe, technology-friendly and international in standard, some unavoidable operational and technical complications have emerged.’ Based on the conclusion that it is not appropriate to conduct the tournament without fully resolving these aspects, it has been decided to postpone Nepal Kabaddi League Season 2 for some time.’

It is said that the selection of all players selected through the draft will remain the same.

Our plan to ensure the participation of the best players from various countries, including Nepal, to make the tournament more competitive and attractive and to take the viewer experience to new heights remains unchanged, and it is said that we highly appreciate the preparations and commitment made by the franchise teams.

The organizers had already informed that 512 Nepali players and more than 100 foreign players from 15 countries have registered for the second season. In the first season, teams from 6 cities - Biratnagar Bandits, Janakpur Knights, Kathmandu Mavericks, Pokhara Lakers, Himalayan Raiders (Butwal) and Dhangadhi Wildcats - competed. Janakpur became the NKL champion by defeating Kathmandu in the final.
