Makawanpur and Lalitpur won the Bagmati Cup T-20 cricket tournament at the Gauritar International Cricket Ground in Hetauda-6 on Monday.

In the first match of the day, home team Makawanpur defeated Nuwakot by 36 runs to register their first win in the tournament. Batting after losing the toss, Makawanpur scored 150 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Suman Sunar scored 52 runs in 35 balls while Gaurav Khadka added 46 runs. Saksham Bastakoti remained unbeaten on 23 runs.

Chasing a target of 151 runs, Nuwakot was bundled out for 114 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Anubhav Khanal scored the highest score of 32 runs. Ashok Poudel scored 20, Ganesh Gautam scored 16 and Roshan Bik scored 15 runs.

Makawanpur's Sakar Gajurel and Swaroop Shrestha took 3 wickets each. Rohit Thakur took 1 wicket. Bidhan Khatiwada took 3 wickets for Nuwakot, while Ishan Pali and Dipesh Kumal took 1 wicket each.

Lalitpur defeated Chitwan by 2 runs in the second match held on Monday. Batting first, Lalitpur scored 173 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Vivek Rana Magar played a half-century of 63 runs in 39 balls.

Chasing a target of 174 runs to win, Chitwan was limited to 171 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Dipesh Shrestha remained unbeaten on 42 runs, while Prateek Shrestha scored 40 runs. Gautam KC scored 29 and Sanjog Chhetri scored 27 runs unbeaten.

Chitwan needed 7 runs to win in the last over. However, Lalitpur's bowlers defended the target and gave the team a 2-run victory.

Lalitpur's Surya Tamang took 3 wickets for 22 runs in 4 overs. Pankaj Pandey also took 3 wickets. Chitwan's Prateek Shrestha took 2 wickets while Gautam KC, Krijan Gurung and Dipesh Shrestha took 1 wicket each. Makawanpur and Lalitpur have won one match each in the competition.
