Nepal has secured a semi-final berth on Sunday by becoming the Group 'A' winner of the Women's SAFF Championship 2026. Nepal ended Sri Lanka's challenge 2-0 in the process of registering their second consecutive win. Nepal's victory has also taken Bhutan to the last four.

Nepal finished top of the table with six points from two matches. Bhutan finished second with three points. Sri Lanka lost both matches and finished with zero points. Rashmi Kumari Ghising and captain Renuka Nagarkote scored one goal each in Nepal's victory. Rashmi opened the scoring in the second minute of injury time of the first half.

Rashmi, who was unmarked, converted a pass from Rekha Poudel in the penalty area. Renuka added the second goal in the 60th minute. Her chip shot from outside the penalty area was converted into a beautiful goal. This was Renuka's first international goal for Nepal.

Birsana Chaudhary made her debut for Nepal in this match. She entered the field in place of Deepa Shahi in the second half.

Nepal's semi-final line-up has not been decided. Two-time defending champions Bangladesh and India will face each other in the final match of Group 'B' on Sunday. That match will decide the group winner and the semi-final line-up will be ready.
