Makawanpur District Boxing Association has won the champion trophy by winning two gold medals and one bronze medal in the All Nepal Open U-22 Boxing Competition.

Makawanpur's Sohan Rai (65 kg) and Aman Shrestha (70 kg) won the gold medals in the competition on Saturday, while Nupam Moktan won the silver in the 60 kg weight category. Players competed in two age groups, under 19 years and 19-22 years.

28 teams including the organizer participated in the competition held at the Covered Hall in Hetauda-4. The winner of each weight category received 10,000, the second 5,000 and the two third-placed players 3,000 each. Aryan Tamang (75 kg) of The Vibes Boxing Club in Kathmandu and Roshiki Shahi Khadgi of RDS Boxing Club in Kathmandu were declared the best boxers in the U-22 category and in the U-19 category. Lal Bahadur Poudel of Makawanpur was selected as the best coach. The best boxer and coach received 10,000 each. The Makawanpur team received a cash prize as the champion.

The Makawanpur Boxing Association organized the competition with the support of the Bagmati Sports Council and the main sponsorship of the Hetauda School of Management. Nepal Olympic Committee General Secretary Rajiv Shrestha and Nepal Boxing Federation President Ram Awale presented the awards.
