Kathmandu has become the team champion in the 16th President's Running Shield Bagmati provincial level competition. On Friday, Kathmandu became the overall team champion by winning 40 gold, 8 silver and 10 bronze in 6 different competitions.

Lalitpur came second in the competition organized by the Provincial Sports Development Council Bagmati with 8 gold, 11 silver and 11 bronze. Dhading, which came third, won 6 gold, 3 silver and 11 bronze.

Kathmandu won the most gold in athletics

Kathmandu became the team champion in athletics. Out of the 26 golds competed for, Kathmandu won the most, 20 golds. Kathmandu also won 3 silver and 5 bronze.

Out of Kathmandu's 20 golds, 18 golds were won by students studying at Laligurans National Academy.

Chitwan came second in the competition held at Dasharath Stadium with 2 golds, 8 silver and 6 bronze. Dhading, which came in third, won 2 gold and 3 silver medals. Makawanpur and Dolakha won 1 gold each.

Kathmandu's Neeraj Shah and Anisha Tharu were declared the best players in the boys' category and the girls' category, respectively. Anisha won 5 gold medals and Neeraj won 4 gold medals. Both are from Laligurans National Academy. Anisha set the junior national record in the triple jump and Avinash Sunar of Laligurans set the junior national record in the high jump.

Kathmandu won the titles in both the boys' and girls' categories of volleyball. Vijay Bhandari and Sarika Karki were declared the best players in the boys' category and the girls' category, respectively.

The winners were awarded by Bagmati Province's Youth and Sports Minister Urmila Nepal, former Bagmati Province's Youth and Sports Minister Minkrishna Maharjan, Provincial Sports Development Council Bagmati member-secretary Deepak Lama and others. The three-day competition featured athletics, volleyball, kabaddi, taekwondo, karate, and wushu.
