The Koshi Province Level Badminton Development Course and Refresher Training has begun in Khandbari.
Organized by the Koshi Province Badminton Association and the District Badminton Association Sankhuwasabha and with the technical support of the Nepal Badminton Association, the training will continue until 19 Jestha.
The training was jointly inaugurated by Khandbari Municipality Mayor Mahesh Thapaliya, Deputy Mayor Maheshwora Shrestha Bajracharya, and Nepal Badminton Association Central Secretary and International Umpire Deepak Thapa.
At the program, Koshi Province Badminton Association President Yagyashwar Shrestha, Khandbari Municipality Acting Chief Administrative Officer Gunaraj Khatri, Sankhuwasabha Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Degaraj Basnet, Federation of Nepalese Journalists Sankhuwasabha President Krishnaraj Shakya, District Volleyball Association President Medini Ghimire, and Federation of Nepalese Journalists Koshi Province member Indra Giri, among others, expressed their best wishes for the success of the training.
International umpire Deepak Thapa and national umpire Kedar Dhimal will provide training in the training.
Koshi Province Badminton Association President Yagya Shrestha and District Badminton Association Sankhuwasabha President Sanjiv Shrestha highlighted the importance of the training.
According to District Badminton Sankhuwasabha Secretary Rukmani Shrestha, more than 47 coaches and trainees from 14 districts of Koshi Province are participating.
In recent times, the attraction of the youth towards badminton in Sankhuwasabha has increased significantly, and it is believed that such training will further strengthen the technical and managerial aspects of the game. According to the organizers, the organizers expect the training to produce skilled umpires and referees and help improve the quality of badminton at the provincial level.
