Jamaican legend Chris Gayle has dubbed Rajasthan Royals' young player Vaibhav Suryavanshi the 'new six machine'. After Vaibhav's brilliant batting in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL's Eliminator round, Gayle has dubbed Vaibhav the 'new six machine'.

Vaibhav has also broken Gayle's record in this season of IPL. He has now become the player to hit the most sixes in a single season of IPL. He has hit 65 sixes this season. Gayle had hit 59 sixes in the 2012 IPL season. Gayle faced 456 balls to achieve this record. But Vaibhav managed to break Gayle's record in just 266 balls.

On Thursday, Vaibhav scored a half-century in 16 balls. He was dismissed for 97 runs in 29 balls with 5 fours and 12 sixes. On Thursday, Vaibhav missed out on setting another record in the IPL. He could have been the fastest (in 29 balls) to score a century. But he was caught out after scoring 97 runs. Gayle holds the record for the fastest century in the IPL (in 30 balls).
15-year-old Vaibhav has also become the youngest player in IPL history to complete 600 runs in a season. He has also scored 680 runs in Thursday's match. Earlier, in the 2018 IPL season, Rishabh Pant completed 600 runs at the age of 21.
Vaibhav made his debut on April 19, 2025 against Lucknow Super Giants at the age of 14 years and 23 days. He hit a six in the first ball of his debut match. In that match, he scored 34 runs off 20 balls. He scored 252 runs in 7 matches in that season. He scored a century in the match against Gujarat Titans on April 28, 2025 at home, Jaipur. He scored a hundred off 35 balls. In that match, he scored 101 runs off 38 balls. He is also the youngest player to score a century in the IPL.
