Nepali golfer Sadbhav Acharya, along with India's Nikhil Pandey and Sri Lanka's K Danusan, are tied for the top spot in the 12th Nepal International Amateur Golf Championship on Wednesday with a 3-under 69.

They edged Nepal's Balram Poudel by 2 strokes. Balram is in fourth place with a 1-under 71. Bhutan's Dechen Lendup and India's Bhivan Uvayakar are tied for fifth place with a score of even par 72. Sri Lanka's Chanaka Perera, Nepal's Rahul Bishwakarma and Bangladesh's Mohammad Sharif are in joint seventh place with a 1-over 73.

Defending champion Sadbhav finished the front nine at 3-under 33 and made four consecutive birdies from the third to sixth holes. He missed a shot on the eighth hole and bogeyed the 13th hole to make the back nine an even par 36.

Nikhil managed to finish the front nine at 3-under 33 with birdies from the fifth to seventh holes. After this, he saved shots at the 12th and 15th holes and bogeyed the 13th and 14th holes. He finished the back nine at an even par of 36.

Bangladesh's Danusan played the front nine at 4-under 32 with birdies from the second, fourth, seventh and ninth holes. He missed shots at the 15th and 18th holes and finished the back nine at 1-over 37 with a birdie on the 12th hole.

On the women's side, Tara Karki Chitrakar managed to beat Avani Rai by 5 strokes with a 4-over 76. Bogeys at the fifth, seventh, eighth and ninth holes completed the front nine at 4-over 40. After this, despite birdies on the 13th and 16th holes, bogeys on the 11th and 17th holes left the back nine at even par 36. Avani is second with 9 over 81 and Samjhana Khatri is third with 13 over 85. Nepal 'A' and Sri Lanka are joint leaders with 2 under 42 in the

team. Nepal 'A' has Sadbhav and Rahul. Sri Lanka has Danusan and Chanaka in the

team. India's Tarun Sardesai Academy is third with 5 over 149, Nepal 'B' is fourth with 7 over 151 and Bangladesh and Bhutan are joint fifth with 8 over 152. India's Bhivan Uvayakar is top of the U-17 side of the

tournament with an even par 72. Nepal's Soham Agarwal and India's Nilofar Shivamurthy are joint second. They scored 2 over 74.
