Neeraj Shah and Dina Gopali of Kathmandu have won gold medals in athletics at the 16th President's Running Shield Bagmati Province-level Games. Neeraj won the 200-meter race in the boys' category and Dina won the 27.60-meter race in the girls' category.
Neeraj completed the distance in 22.87 seconds and Dina in 27.60 seconds at the Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor. Neeraj (52.40 seconds) and Anisha Tharu of Kathmandu in the 400-meter race in the same distance won the gold. Hasta Sunar of Kathmandu (2 minutes 03.6 seconds) and Bhagwati Khadka (2 minutes 35.5 seconds) won the gold in the 800-meter race in the boys' category.
Mahendra KC of Kathmandu (11.80 meters) and Apsara Shrestha of Dolkha (8.51 meters) topped the boys' category. In the javelin throw, Ritik Basyal (50.59 meters) and Srijana Shrestha (29.43 meters) came first in the boys' event. Both are from Dhading.
In the 1500-meter run, Hasta Sunar of Kathmandu (4 minutes 17.9 seconds) and Bhagwati Khadka of Kathmandu (5 minutes 19.6 seconds) came first in the girls' event. In the long jump, Bishal Gurung of Chitwan (6.53 meters) and Anisha Tharu of Kathmandu (5.06 meters) came first in the boys' event. Kathmandu won both the boys' and girls' events of the 4x100-meter relay.
In Wushu, Kathmandu became the team champion with 6 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze. Lalitpur, which won 4 gold, silver and bronze each, came second and Bhaktapur came third with 1 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze. Out of the 12 golds in competition, Dhading won 1 gold.
Annex Maharjan and Bipana Tamang were declared the best players in Thaulu boys' and girls' teams, respectively. Both are from Kathmandu. Roshan Thapa Magar from Bhaktapur and Rachana Silwal from Lalitpur were declared the best players in Sansau boys' and girls' teams, respectively.
