Meringden Rural Municipality has won the title of the Buddharani Inter-municipal Women's Volleyball Tournament. Meringden defeated Phidim Municipality 3-0 in straight sets in the final held at the Surma Sports Ground on Wednesday.
Meringden received 61 thousand rupees as the first prize, while Phidim settled for 41 thousand.
The game began on Jestha 11 in memory of the late Buddharani Chongbang, mother of former national volleyball player Krishna Chongbang. Six municipalities, three from Panchthar and three from Taplejung, participated in the tournament.
