The All Nepal Open U-22 Boxing Competition has started in Hetauda. The competition started on Wednesday at the Covered Hall in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-4 under the organization of Makawanpur District Boxing Association. The competition will be held till Saturday. In the competition for two age groups, namely under 19 years and 19 to 22 years, players in the 50, 55, 60, 65, 70 and 75 kg weight groups for men and 50, 55 and 60 kg weight groups for women will compete in each age group. 28 teams including the organizer are participating in the competition. The first placer in each weight group will receive 10,000 rupees, the second placer 5,000 rupees and the two third placers 3,000 rupees each. The Bagmati Sports Council has supported the operation of the competition, while the Hetauda School of Management is the main sponsor.
Apart from Makawanpur, Kathmandu's H20 Athletics, Flow Boxing, Banus Jotal Fitness Limited, RDS Boxing Club, OG Boxing Gym, Sweet Science Boxing and Fitness, The Vibe Boxing Club, Reg Fitness, Naxal Boxing Club, Boxmandu Boxing Gym, Fit Pro-Motion Club, Thankot Boxing Club and Tejaswi Boxing Club will participate in the competition.
Similarly, Achham District Boxing Association, Iron Fist Boxing Club (Banepa), Casa Boxing Club (Lalitpur), Nuwakot Boxing Association, Kailali District Boxing Association, Dharan Boxing, Club Madhyapur (Bhaktapur), The Alpha Sports Center (Dang), Kanchanpur District Boxing Association, Rupandehi District Boxing Association, Kaski District Boxing Association, Dhankuta District Boxing Association and Jhapa District Boxing Association are participating.
The tournament was inaugurated by District Boxing Association President Sushil Ghimire and Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City Mayor Mina Kumari Lama.
