Defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday booked their place in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. They comfortably defeated Gujarat Titans by 92 runs in Qualifier-1 to reach the final for the second consecutive time.

Bengaluru, who were champions for the first time last year, will have a chance to defend their title. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals will now play in the Eliminator on Wednesday. The winner of that will face Gujarat in Qualifier-2. The winner of that will face Bengaluru in the final.

Chasing a record-breaking target of 255 runs to win in the match played in Dharamsala, Gujarat were bowled out for 162 runs in 19.3 overs.

Rahul Tewatia top-scored with 68 runs for Gujarat, who had a very poor performance with the bat. He hit eight fours and four sixes in 43 balls, but it didn't mean much in the game. Jacob Duffy took three wickets among Bengaluru's bowlers.

Bengaluru, who were invited to bat first, scored 254 runs for the loss of five wickets. The biggest contribution to this was from captain Rajat Patidar. He scored 93 runs in 33 balls. That included five fours and nine sixes.

Similarly, Virat Kohli and Krunal Pandya scored 43 runs for Bengaluru. Rajat and Krunal shared an aggressive 95-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Gujarat's poor fielding was also responsible for Bengaluru's big score.
