The third edition of the Tenzing Norgay Sherpa Open Lead Climbing Competition is scheduled to be held on 14-15 Jestha. The

competition is being jointly organized by the Nepal National Mountaineering Guides Association and the US Nepal Climbers Association. The competition aims to promote adventure climbing in Nepal and honor the contributions of world-famous climbers Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary. Both Nepali and foreign climbers can participate in the competition. The

competition will be held in separate categories for men and women. The first, second and third place winners in both categories will receive prizes of Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively.

Nepal National Mountaineering Guides Association President Tulsing Gurung said that climbers will compete in the lead climbing category for the first time in this year's competition.

The previous two editions were held in top-rope climbing.
