Home team Nepal has faced Iran in the semifinals of the Kava Women's Volleyball Championship.

Iran defeated Kazakhstan in the final match of their group on Monday at the Rakhep Covered Hall in Tripureshwor to become the winner of Group 'B'. Iran won over Kazakhstan in a competitive match with both teams having entered the last four. Undefeated Iran won 25-22, 25-20, 25-22. Kazakhstan became the group runner-up with the defeat.

Iran won the first edition of this championship held in Uzbekistan last year. They defeated the host Uzbekistan in straight sets in the final. India won the same competition held under the name of the Kava Women's Volleyball Nations League in 2024. Nepal was defeated by India in a 3-2 set in the competition held in Kathmandu.

On the other hand, India won from Group 'A' and Nepal finished as runners-up and reached the semi-finals. Nepal will face Iran in the semi-finals, while India will face Kazakhstan.

India won its third consecutive victory on Monday to become the winner of its group. India defeated Kyrgyzstan 3-0 in straight sets. The Indian team won in sets 25-14, 26-24, 25-13. With this victory, India collected 8 points from 3 matches. Nepal was in second place with 7 points. Nepal collected 6 points by defeating Kyrgyzstan and Maldives, but lost one point after playing 5 sets against India. Kyrgyzstan, which won its only match, has 3 points, while Maldives, which lost all three matches, has no points.
