Captain Shreyas Iyer's maiden century in the Indian Premier League helped Punjab Kings beat Lucknow Super Giants by seven wickets on Saturday. This was Punjab's first win after six consecutive losses and with it their play-off chances remained intact.

After this win, Punjab has 15 points and is in fourth place. Only one place remains for the play-offs. Now Punjab, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders will compete for that. Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad have already reached the play-offs.

Batting first in Lucknow, the home team scored 196 runs for the loss of six wickets. In this, Jas English contributed 72 runs. In reply, Punjab scored 200 runs for the loss of three wickets in 18 overs. Shreyas scored 101 runs off just 51 balls and remained unbeaten.
