India, the defending champions, secured a place in the semi-finals of the Kava Women's Volleyball Championship on Saturday with a second win.

India, who are in Group 'A', defeated Maldives in straight sets in the recently concluded match at the Rakhep Covered Hall in Tripureshwor.

India had made a successful start by winning a sensational five-set victory against Nepal on Friday.

India won against Maldives in straight sets of 25-9, 25-14, 25-17. This is the second defeat for Maldives.

Maldives also lost to Kyrgyzstan in a straight set of 25-19, 25-16, 25-22 in the match held late on Friday.

Kyrgyzstan will play against home team Nepal today. Having lost one match, Nepal will have to maintain its winning streak against Kyrgyzstan. Now, if they lose the match, Nepal's semi-final journey will become difficult.
