Nepal Electricity Authority 'B' and Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) have reached the semi-finals of the men's futsal competition under the 15th Employees Sports Competition.
In the quarterfinals on Saturday at the Visiona Recreation in Kuleshwor, Vidyut 'B' defeated Janak Shiksha Samhaya Kendra by 2-0 goals. KUKL defeated Nepal Airlines Corporation 'A' by 2-0 goals.
In the other quarterfinals, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal defeated Nepal Bank Limited by 3-0 goals and Krishi Bikas Bank defeated Vidyut 'A' by 4-0 goals to secure a place in the semifinals. In the semifinals, Krishi will meet KUKL and Vidyut 'B' and will face Civil Aviation.
The semifinal equation has also been completed in women's futsal. Lumbini Bikas Bank and Nepal Bank and Global IME Bank and Krishi Bikas Bank will compete. Krishi is the defending champion in both men's and women's categories.
The top three teams in the men's category will receive prizes of 55 thousand, 33 thousand and 22 thousand respectively. The winner in the women's category will receive a cash prize of Rs 35,000 and the runner-up will receive Rs 25,000.
Futsal is the final competition under the employee sports category. The competition, which includes 4 different sports, badminton, table tennis and chess, has been completed.
In badminton, Krishi Bikas Bank has won 2 gold medals and Electricity, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Ncell and NTC have won 1 gold medal each. In table tennis, Everest Bank Limited and Nepal Airlines Corporation have won 2 gold medals and Civil Aviation Corporation has won 1 gold medal. In chess, Dipendra Thakur of the corporation won the gold medal.
