Nepali cricket umpire Bhaskar Aryal has passed away. Aryal, 46, a resident of Biratnagar-4, passed away on Sunday morning. According to his family, Aryal had been suffering from jaundice for a month. He was treated in the hospital for two weeks after his health deteriorated. After the doctor informed him that further treatment was not possible, his relatives returned him home last Sunday. He passed away on Sunday morning while undergoing treatment and care at home. Aryal had been active in the role of a cricket umpire for two decades. He had made significant contributions to the development and management of the game of cricket by umpiring in various local and international competitions. He was a level-one umpire in cricket. He was well-known among sportspersons due to his passion for cricket and continuous activism. In addition to cricket, he also had experience in journalism and publishing. He worked as a press assistant at Kantipur Publications' Biratnagar printing house for about a decade. Aryal is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.

The Koshi Province Cricket Association and the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) have expressed deep sorrow over his death. Both organizations have stated on social media that Aryal's death has caused irreparable damage to the development of cricket. Aryal will be cremated at Paropkar Ghat in Biratnagar today, his colleague and cricket umpire Kamlesh Thakur informed.
