Punjab Kings suffered their fifth consecutive defeat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Thursday, leaving their play-off chances in jeopardy. They were defeated by Mumbai Indians by six wickets in a match in Dharamsala.

Mumbai are already out of the competition and have eight points. Punjab are fourth with 13 points. Unbeaten in their first seven matches, Punjab have since lost consecutively.

Batting first, Punjab scored 200 runs for the loss of eight wickets with Prabhsimran Singh scoring 57 runs. Among the Mumbai bowlers, Shardul Thakur took four wickets for 39 runs.

In reply, Mumbai scored 205 runs for the loss of four wickets with one ball to play. Tilak Verma remained unbeaten on 75 runs for Mumbai. He hit six fours and six sixes in 33 balls. Similarly, opener Ryan Rickelton also scored 48 runs off 23 balls.
