Scotland defeated their nearest rivals USA by 2 runs on Thursday using the Duckworth-Lewis method to reach the top of the Cricket World Cup League 2. Scotland had also defeated Nepal by 2 runs in the first match.

Scotland, who came out to bat after losing the toss, scored 321 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in a shortened 47 overs. In reply, USA scored 160 runs in 26.4 overs at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Stadium, Kirtipur when rain interrupted the match.
