Hari Narayan Sharma of Jaimini Municipality-1, Baglung, has won a gold and a silver medal in the 'Second Petanque Transplant Asian Open Championship-2026' recently held in Bangkok, Thailand.

It is said that he won the gold medal in the men's singles and the silver medal in the mixed doubles under the Nations Group of the competition held in Thailand.  

Sharma, General Secretary of the Transplant Sports Association, is the team manager of Nepal in the World Transplant Games Federation. This is a competition in which players who have undergone kidney transplants participate. 85 players from 9 countries competed in the competition.

Along with Nepal, Australia, Bhutan, China, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Malaysia and Thailand participated in the competition.

On this occasion, Sharma expressed his gratitude to the organ donor who gave him a second life. He also expressed his gratitude to all the doctors and health workers who made this journey possible.

'Because of someone's organ donation, I am able to live today, dream, serve society and represent Nepal at the international level even after the transplant,' he said.
