Itahari's bowlers looked impressive in containing Duhabi's poor performance to a low score. In the match where Vikalp Acharya, captain Bhupal Luintel and Prakash Karki took 3 wickets each, Duhabi's Bishal Dhakal scored 12 runs while Surya Rauniyar scored only 8 runs. Duhabi's 4 batters returned to the pavilion on zero.
In reply, Itahari Sub-metropolitan City, chasing a modest target of 37 runs, achieved the target in just 1.5 overs without losing a wicket. Itahari's Shivansh Bajgain batted aggressively and scored an unbeaten 33 runs in 9 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. Ritesh Rai remained unbeaten on 5 runs. Duhabi's bowlers Ramesh Chaudhary and Aman Ali proved to be expensive. Aman conceded 24 runs. Itahari's alternative Acharya was declared the Player of the Match. He received a prize of Rs 1,500.
On Thursday, Bhokrah Narsingh Rural Municipality and Itahari Blue and Mechinagar Municipality and Dharan Sub-Metropolitan Municipality will compete, said the tournament coordinator and Sunsari District Cricket Association President CP Poudel.
Twelve municipalities of Koshi are participating in the tournament that will run until 5th Jestha. The winner of the tournament organized by Ideal Sports Academy will receive Rs 75,000 and the runner-up will receive Rs 40,000. The Player of the Series will be awarded Rs 7,000, and the best batter and bowler will be awarded Rs 4,000 each. The titles of both the previous editions were won by Biratnagar Metropolitan Municipality.
