Nepal will field first against Scotland in the Cricket World Cup League 2 on Tuesday. Scotland captain Richie Berrington won the toss and elected to bat at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

Nepal has kept the same team that defeated Oman last Tuesday in the playing 11.  Under the captaincy of Rohit Poudel, Nepal has Binod Bhandari, Asif Sheikh, Arjun Kumal, Deependra Singh Airi, Arif Sheikh, Gulshan Jha, Karan KC, Nandan Yadav, Sandeep Lamichhane and Lalit Rajbanshi.

Ishan Pandel will have to wait for another match to make his 'debut' in the One-Day International. Along with Ishan, Sompal Kami, Bhim Sarki and Kushal Bhurtel are out of the playing 11.

Scotland has not played its main fast bowler Safyan Sharif. Scotland's George Munsey, Brandon McMullen, Mark Watt, and Michael Liskes have experience playing for various franchises in the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

Scotland is in second place in League 2 with 34 points from 28 matches, while Nepal is in seventh place with 18 points from 24 matches.

When Scotland came to Kathmandu in 2023 to play in League 2, they lost to Nepal in both matches. But in the same series, Scotland won the 2019-2023 League 2 Circle title on Nepali soil by defeating Namibia.
