The match went to a penalty shootout after both teams scored 1-1 in the stipulated time. Sahara's Chetan Chaudhary scored in the fifth minute of the first half. Nepal Police's Sanjeev Lama equalized the score in the first minute of the second half with a brilliant goal. Both teams failed to score any more goals in the 90-minute match. The match then went to a penalty shootout.
The match went to a sudden death after the score was also equal in the penalty shootout. In the sudden death, Sahara's Phaguram Chaudhary, Chetan Chaudhary, Sandeep KC and Sujan Magar scored goals to turn the match around. Nepal Police Club's Ram Waji, Sanjeev Lama and Hemant Shrestha were the only goals scored.
The winner Sahara Club won a trophy, medal and certificate along with eight lakh rupees. Runner-up Nepal Police Club was satisfied with only four lakh rupees along with a medal and certificate. In the category, Kohalpur Racing Sahara's captain and goalkeeper Mukunda Gharti Magar won 51 thousand rupees as the Player of the Tournament.
Sahara Club's coach Janak KC won a medal, certificate and ten thousand rupees as the Best Coach. Sahara Club's Chetan Chaudhary was named the West Defender and Sahara's Laxman Rana Magar received 10 thousand rupees each as the Rising Player of the Tournament.
Shatrudhan Chaudhary of Nepal Police Club was the best goalkeeper, Ramwaji of Nepal Police Club was the best midfielder, and Ashish Tharu of Nepal Police Club was the best forward, receiving Rs 10,000 each as the top scorer.
Eight teams participated in the fourth Kohalpur Gold Cup, which started on April 19.
