Nepali batsman Lokesh Bam will play in the EU T20 League in Belgium. EU T20 League franchise Antwerp Anchors announced on Friday that they have signed Lokesh. Lokesh has been brought in to replace Saad Nawaz.

Another batsman, Asif Sheikh, is also playing for Antwerp Anchors. Asif was Nepal's main wicketkeeper in the Twenty20 World Cup in February, while Lokesh is the second-choice wicketkeeper. Lokesh played in the middle order and scored an unbeaten 39 off 20 balls against England in Mumbai, despite Nepal losing by 4 runs.

Lokesh is playing in a foreign league for the first time. Lokesh has scored 215 runs in 18 innings of 23 Twenty20 Internationals for Nepal, with a strike rate of over 143.

That 39 against England is his highest score. Lokesh scored 106 runs in a match when Ireland 'A' toured Nepal just before the 2024 World Cup. This is the only century scored by a Nepali player in Twenty20 in the last three years.

10 players from different franchises, including captain Rohit Poudel and vice-captain Deependra Singh Airi, are playing in the EU T20 League.
