Chitlang FC Kathmandu and Bagmati Youth Club Sarlahi will compete for the title of the 8th National Bagmati Gold Cup Football Tournament 2083 on Saturday.
Both teams have claimed to win the title in the final match to be held at 3 pm at the Shahid Smriti Rangshala Jhurjhure Sports Ground, about 55 kilometers east of Hetauda.
Speaking at the pre-match conference organized on the eve of the final match, Chitlang FC coach Suman Shrestha said that his team deserves the title. Stating that the team has become strong due to the combination of experienced and foreign players, he said that they will continue to play aggressively in the final as well.
Meanwhile, Bagmati Youth Club Sarlahi manager Bishwaraj Lamichhane claimed that the players are experienced as his team has been continuously participating in competitions held in various districts. He said that the team is fully prepared for the title and called his team 'Hungry Tigers'.
Chitlang FC defeated Nawajanajagruti Youth Club Simara by a 5-1 goal margin in the semi-finals and made it to the finals. Bagmati Youth Club, on the other hand, came close to the title by defeating Friends Club Kathmandu in a trybreaker.
Looking at the performance up to the semi-finals, Chitlang FC has been seen in an aggressive style, while Bagmati Youth Club's team play is considered impressive.
The winner of the 10-team tournament will receive a prize of Rs. 1 million and the runner-up will receive Rs. 5 million. The best player of the tournament will receive Rs. 101,000 and the best players in each category will receive Rs. 25,000 each, according to the organizers.
The tournament was organized by the Bagmati Sports Development Committee under the sponsorship of Bagmati Rural Municipality Makwanpur.
