New Horizon Cricket Club has won the ‘A’ Division match under the ongoing ‘Panchakanya Rupandehi Super League’ in Bhairahawa on Saturday. Horizon defeated Butwal Rhinos by 7 wickets.

In the match held at the Siddhartha Cricket Ground in Bhairahawa, Butwal Rhinos, who won the toss and elected to bat, scored only 76 runs after bowling 23 overs in the stipulated 50 overs.

New Horizon’s Prince Pal took 6 wickets for 6 runs including 3 maidens in 7 overs. Mahesh Bhar and Viprasan KC took 2 wickets each. Butwal Rhinos’ Uttam Thapa Magar scored 32 and Shiva Kunwar scored 15 runs. Most of Butwal’s players could not score double figures. 4 players were out for nil.

Batting in reply, New Horizons won easily by scoring 77 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 14 overs and 2 balls. Sangam Pandey contributed 29 not out, Amar Mishra 21 and Dros Sunar 12 runs in their victory. In the bowling, Butwal Rhinos' Sumit Thapa took 2 wickets and Pramish Pun took 1 wicket. Prince Pal was named Player of the Match in the match and received Rs 1,200.

The winning team of the tournament organized by the Rupandehi Cricket Association will receive Rs 101,010 and the runner-up will receive Rs 50,010.
