A one-day review seminar for Nepali cricket umpires concluded on Saturday. The Nepal Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association (CAN) organized the seminar at Amravati Hotel Gaushala under the management of the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN).
The decision made by the umpires in the recently concluded Prime Minister's (PM) Cup national cricket tournament in Janakpur and Birgunj of Madhesh Province was reviewed in the review seminar, said Mohammad Shafiqi (Samir), President of the Umpires Association. 24 umpires and three match referees participating in the PM Cup participated in the seminar.
Match referees and umpires from Sri Lanka who came to Kirtipur for the ongoing Cricket World Cup League 2 also shared their experiences in the seminar. Foreign umpires invited for the development and upgrading of umpires shared their experiences and also gave suggestions for enhancing their capacity.
Secretary Paras Khadka and Cricket Manager Binod Das were present from CAN. The Umpires Association has requested that programs such as umpire grading, career development, self-evaluation, match practice, and training be organized in coordination with CAN for the upgradation of umpires. Umpires have also expressed their commitment to improving their weaknesses.
