Chitlang FC of Kathmandu has won the 8th Bagmati Gold Cup football tournament being held in Bagmati Rural Municipality. Chitlang defeated APF 2-1 in the match held at the Shahid Smriti Stadium on Saturday.
Chitlang's foreign player Solomon King scored a goal through a penalty in the 11th minute and Aaron Thapa scored in the 60th minute. APF's Buddhiman Rai pulled one back in the 47th minute. Laxman Thapa of Chitlang was named the Player of the Match. He received 10,000.
Chitlang will now play Machhindra on Tuesday to reach the semi-finals. Machhindra is also the sixth edition winner and seventh edition runner-up team.
