The second phase of the Panchakanya Rupandehi Super League, the 'A' Division competition, will begin in Bhairahawa on Friday. Earlier, the 'B' Division competition in the first phase of the Super League was held from 17 to 30 Chaitra.
The Rupandehi Cricket Association is the organizer of the tournament, which will feature the participation of 12 'A' Division cricket teams from Rupandehi. The association said in a press conference on Thursday that the tournament will be held until 9 Jestha. The main sponsor, Panchakanya Group Managing Director Devendra Sahu, and the organizing association's president Hari Bahadur Thapa signed an agreement for the title sponsor on Thursday.
Director Sahu said that they supported this tournament as part of their collaboration in various fields under social responsibility. Stating that Panchakanya Group aims to support the development of sports in the society, Director Sahu said, 'We have partnered with Rupandehi Cricket Association because its contribution to the development of cricket is commendable.'

President Thapa said that due to the increasing popularity and activities of cricket in Rupandehi, it has become easier to raise financial resources for organizing competitions. He said that now the Rupandehi Cricket Association itself is becoming capable of organizing big cricket competitions.
Outgoing Executive Secretary of Nepal Cricket Association and former President of Rupandehi Cricket Association Prashant Bikram Malla said that Rupandehi is the first district to organize 'A' and 'B' division matches in 50 overs. The winner will receive Rs 100,01 and the runner-up will receive Rs 50,01.
Man of the Series will receive Rs 15,000, West Batter, Best Bowler and Emerging Player will receive Rs 5,000 each and Man of the Match will receive Rs 1,200. Mount Everest Katha Mill has sponsored the winner and BK Jewelers has sponsored the runner-up.
Coordinator Pratham Parajuli informed that Western, Buddha, Tilottama, Jitgadhi Rogal, Melbourne, Lumbini Khukuri, Devdaha, Tirupati, New Horizon and Butwal Rhinos Cricket Clubs will participate in the competition. Buddha and Devdaha are the clubs promoted from the 'B' division.
