Simara's Nawa Janajagruti has entered the semi-finals of the Bagmati Gold Cup national football tournament by defeating Tribhuvan Army Club. 

The match was played at the Shahid Smriti Stadium in Bagmati-4 on Friday and the match went into a tie-breaker after the score was tied 1-1 in regular time. Captain Bharat Khawas scored for the Army in the 8th minute of the match and Janajagruti's Santosh Gongba scored in the 93rd minute of extra time of the second half.  

Sudip Lama, Ranjay Chaudhary, Bikram Thokar, and Santosh Gongba scored goals for Nawa Janajagruti in the tie-breaker, while Sameer Nepali's shot hit the goalpost and bounced back. Dinesh Henjan, Pemba Dorje Lama, and Jillespijng Karki scored goals for the Army. Simara goalkeeper Yunesh Chaudhary, who saved the shots of Army's Bimal Pandey and Sujan Khatri, stopped them. Chaudhary was declared the Player of the Match. He received 10,000 rupees. 

10 teams, including the organizer, are participating in the competition. The winner of the competition will receive 10 lakhs and the runner-up 5 lakhs. The best player of the competition will receive 101,000 rupees, the best players in each category will receive 25-25,000, and the player who is the man of the match in each match will receive 10,000-10,000.
