The Nepali team, which won the bronze medal in women's kabaddi under the 6th Asian Beach Games, returned home on Wednesday.

The team was welcomed at the Tribhuvan International Airport by Minister for Education, Youth and Sports Sasmit Pokharel, National Sports Council Member-Secretary Ramcharitra Mehta, officials of the Nepal Kabaddi Association, players, coaches, family members and others.

Nepal had reached the semi-finals of the women's kabaddi at the Beach Games held in Sanya, China from April 23 to 27, remaining undefeated in the group stage.

In Group 'B', Nepal had entered the semi-finals as the winner by defeating Chinese Taipei, Thailand and Bangladesh. Nepal was limited to the bronze medal after losing to Sri Lanka in the semi-finals.

The team consists of Manmati Bista (captain), Anuja Kulung Rai (vice-captain), Rabina Chaudhary, Sirjana Tharu, Meena Nepali and Nanumaya Parajuli. The coach is Ratiya Rajbanshi. All Nepal Kabaddi Association General Secretary Arvind Kumar Jha has also returned home along with the team.

The Nepali women's kabaddi team also won a bronze medal in the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China. At that time, all four players except Meena and Nanumaya were in the team.
