Pranab Manandhar and Darshil Shrestha reached the quarterfinals of the 12th Citizens Bank Open Tennis Tournament on Tuesday.

In the men's singles, Pranab defeated Ugen Sherpa 6-1, 6-0 and Darshil defeated Pritam Pariyar 6-3, 6-4 in straight sets at the tennis courts in Tripureshwor.

In the same event, Pradeep Khadka defeated Daniel Bastola 6-0, 6-0, Rajbir Pradhan defeated Nijez Maharjan 6-2, 6-2, Ayushman Ghale defeated Boris Adhikari 6-1, 6-1, Saksham Bikram Shah defeated Abhinav Acharya 6-2, 6-1 and Pranab Khanal defeated Nishan Shrestha 7-5, 6-1 in straight sets to secure a place in the quarterfinals. In the men's doubles, Pranab and Ayushman defeated Nijez and Ojez Maharjan 6-1, 6-0, Rajbir and Ugen Sherpa defeated Abhinav and Saksham Bikram 6-2, 6-1, Pradeep and Pritam Pariyar defeated Darshil Shrestha/Shashwat Vajracharya 6-1, 6-3, and Nihal Jung and Pranab Manandhar defeated Nishan and Dawa Sherpa 6-2, 6-3 in straight sets to book their place in the semifinals.

In the Veteran 65+ men's singles at the Army Officers Club in Bhadrakali, Pavitra Jung Rayamajhi defeated Karma Ghale 6-7, 6-1, 11-9 and Kamal Thapa defeated Padam Gurung 6-0, 6-3 to secure their place in the semifinals. In the men's doubles of the same competition, the pair of Deepak Shrestha and Gyanendraman Tamrakar defeated the pair of Karma Tasi and Jerome Idu 6-4, 0-6, 17-15 to reach the semifinals.

In the veteran men's doubles over 45 years of age category of the tournament, which is being organized by the Kathmandu District Tennis Association and sponsored by Citizens Bank, Rohit Sunuwar and Mahesh Shrestha, Nawang Lama and Rajendra Bhatia, Sukman Tamang and Anjanman Baniya, and Amit Gurung and Dev Chhetri made it to the semifinals.

In the veteran 55+ men's doubles, the pairs of Chandra Shahi and Sobhitman Shrestha, Ramesh Rokka and Premprakash Thapa, Sagar KC and Neerajan Kumar Shrestha, Dharam Singh Lamichhane and Sameer Sherchan, Dharma Shahi and Ashish Sigdel, Sunil Gurung and Nawang Lama, Raju Rai and Babukrishna Karki, and Manu Tripathi and Prithviman Gurung reached the quarterfinals.
