Kailali district has won 33 gold medals in the second official provincial-level competition of the Sudurpaschim Province Karate Federation.

The event was held at Kantirajya Lakshmi Secondary School in Pahalmanpur, Ghodaghodi Municipality-10, Kailali. The referee seminar held at the same venue was organized by Mohan Dhaubhadel, coordinator of the National Referee Commission of the Nepal Karate Federation, with the support of National Referee Commission members Prakash Kumar Chand and Sirjana Adhikari, and the Sudurpaschim Province Referee Commission.
The competition, in which 500 players from 8 districts of the province participated, was attended by Dawa Gurung, president of the Asia Pacific Karate Federation, who is also the founding president of the Nepal Karate Federation.
The federation has selected the provincial referee team through the referee seminar and competition. Junior, Cadet, 14, 12 and under-10 teams have been selected from the competition. This team will conduct the Sudurpaschim Province competition at the national level.
At the inauguration ceremony, the best player award given by the Province Karate Federation every year for 2082 was awarded to Anandan Kami for men and Manish Kumari Bohara for women. The best volunteer coach award, given in memory of the late karate volunteer coach Late Gopal Khadka, was given to coach Rajendra Prasad Awasthi of Darchula. They were each awarded Rs. 10,000.
The five players who won gold medals in the Ganeshman Singh National Karate Competition held in Kathmandu were awarded Rs. 5,000 each. Similarly, the Province Karate Federation, which trained in Ghodaghodi Municipality and won gold in the Under-20 National Athletics Competition held in Pokhara, were awarded Rs. 5,000 each, while their coach Tejendra Deuba was honored with a dosalla.
