UAE registered a crucial 25-run victory over Oman in the Cricket World Cup League 2 on Monday. This was UAE's sixth win in League 2. Despite that, the team remains at the bottom of the points table in the eight-nation tournament with 12 points from 21 matches.

Nepal is in seventh place with 14 points from 21 matches. Nepal had defeated UAE by 37 runs on Friday. Chasing a target of 201 runs set by Nepal, UAE was all out for 163 runs in 48.2 overs.
But the scene at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur on Monday was different. UAE's Aryans Sharma and Abid Usmani shared a 163-run partnership for the first wicket. That too within 31 overs. The story was the same again. When UAE could only score 105 runs in the remaining 19 overs, the team scored 268/7.
Usmani was dismissed after scoring a half-century (64). He hit 4 fours and 2 sixes in 76 balls. Aryans scored his first century in ODIs. He scored 105 runs in 125 balls, hitting 10 fours and 2 sixes. Harpreet Singh, who came in at number three, scored 54 runs in 58 balls, including 5 fours and 1 six. In the middle order, Mohammad Shahdad scored 25 runs in 23 balls, including 1 four and a six.
Oman's Shah Faisal took 3 wickets for 62 runs in 10 overs, Siddharth Bukkapatnam took 2 wickets for 44 runs in 10 overs and Shakil Ahmed took 1 wicket for 44 runs in 10 overs.
Oman was bowled out for 243 runs in 47.5 overs after Ajay Kumar bowled brilliantly and took 6 wickets. Oman came close to victory when Ajay took the last 3 wickets in a single over. Ajay bowled brilliantly and took 35 runs in 9.5 overs, giving UAE the win. After he took the last 3 wickets, Oman's Vinayak Shukla was forced to watch Oman's defeat from a non-strike end. He hit 2 fours and a six in 58 balls. Captain Jatinder Singh and Ashish Odedara gave Oman a good start by putting on 85 runs in 14 overs. Jatinder scored 46 runs off 35 balls with 8 fours and 1 six, Odedara scored 35 runs off 49 balls with 5 fours and 1 six, Mujibur Ali scored 24 runs, and Hammad Mirza scored 27 runs.
Nepal will face Oman on Wednesday.
