Nepal missed out on the finals after losing to Sri Lanka 46-23 in the second semi-final match held at the Sanya Sports Complex on Sunday. Trailing 24-12 from the first half, Nepal was equally under pressure in the second half.
In the first semi-final, Group 'A' winners India defeated Bangladesh 50-31. Group 'A' runners-up Sri Lanka will face India for the gold medal.
After the match, coach Ratiya Rajbanshi said that the Nepali team, who were tired after playing the match against Bangladesh in the morning, had performed so well. He said, 'The Nepali team has shown its full potential with limited resources, and I am satisfied with this.' 
In the last match of Group 'B' against Bangladesh in the morning, Nepal had won a hard-fought 38-36 victory. The match, which was postponed due to bad weather last Friday, was played on Sunday morning, and both tired teams also had to play the semi-final match in the afternoon.
