The Rasuwa District Sports Development Committee has honored 3 athletes from the same family. Dawa Tamang, a resident of Kalika Rural Municipality Ward 1, and his two daughters Diya and Diksha were honored for their success in introducing the district to sports.

They were honored by Bagmati Province's Economic Affairs and Planning Minister Prabhat Tamang on the occasion of the closing ceremony of the 13th Rasuwa District-Level President's Running Shield Games.

Dawa, who is also the ward chairman of Kalika Rural Municipality-1, has competed in various national and international trail races. Dawa won a silver medal in the 80-kilometer distance of the recently concluded Manjushree Trail Race.

Eldest daughter Diya won a silver medal in the under-14 age group of the South Asian Karate Championship held in Sri Lanka, and youngest daughter Diksha won a bronze medal in the under-10 age group of the same competition held in Sri Lanka. Father Dawa also has a karate background.
