Tenzing Tshering won the Carlsberg Golf Classic (Gokarna Edition) held at Gokarna Golf Club on Saturday.
Tenzing, who played with a zero handicap, won the title by scoring 39 Stableford points. With this victory, he received golf kits and gifts, including a golf trip to Malaysia. He played an excellent game without bogeys and made birdies on the 8th, 11th and 13th holes.
Sanyog Shahi became the runner-up on the basis of countback with 37 points. Playing with a seven-handicap, he scored 16 on the front 9 holes and 21 on the back 9 holes. Tashi Tshering won both the Best Gross and Most Birdies titles. She won the Best Gross with 39 gross points and also made 5 birdies and won the Most Birdies title. Sushma Singh won the women's title with 38 points. She also received a prize including a golf trip to Malaysia. Tara Karki Chitrakar became the runner-up with 33 points.
Babu Sherpa (36 points) emerged as the winner in the Senior category for players aged 60 and above. He scored 15 on the front nine and 21 on the back nine. Shankarman Rokka won the Closest to the Pin award, while Dartanian Gierke won the Longest Drive.
A total of 111 players participated in the competition sponsored by Gorkha Brewery. All the winners of the competition received gift hampers from Carlsberg. The winners were presented with awards by Gorkha Brewery directors Amar Vaidya, Kajiman Subba, Rojan Amatya, Pratima Verma, Dineshman Shrestha, Brand Manager Isha Poudel, along with Gokarna Golf Club President Suhrid Ghimire and Captain Joseph Nathan.
