Nepal has suffered a shock defeat to Vanuatu in the ICC Women's Challenge Trophy. Vanuatu defeated Nepal by 22 runs in the ongoing tournament in Rwanda on Friday.

If Nepal had defeated Vanuatu, it would have been their third consecutive win and climbed to the top spot. But Vanuatu registered their first victory in the tournament with a convincing win over Nepal. Vanuatu had lost all three of their previous matches. This is Nepal's second defeat in four matches.

Nepal lost to the US by 44 runs on the first day's match, then defeated Italy by 50 runs and hosts Rwanda by 2 wickets. However, Nepal had a very poor performance on Friday.

Vanuatu, who won the toss and elected to bat at the Ghanga International Cricket Stadium in Kigali, scored 97 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In reply, Nepal was all out for 75 runs in 15.3 overs.

With this match, Kavita Kunwar has become the highest wicket-taker for Nepal in women's Twenty20 Internationals. Kavita took her wicket tally to 63 by taking 1 wicket against Vanuatu in the ongoing ICC Women's Challenge Trophy in Rwanda on Friday. Earlier, Sita Rana Magar had taken 62 wickets in 67 matches.
