Nepali Kempo team has won 17 medals in the 22nd IKF World Kempo (Martial Arts) Championship held in Turkey.
Nepal Kempo Federation President Pavel Shah informed that so far the Nepali team has won 17 medals in a total of 5 categories in the World Kempo Championship. Monalisa Dhami won the gold medal in junior kata. Kridix Bikram Kunwar and Dilman Lama won bronze medals. In the junior category of weapon kata, Monalisa won silver, Sulabh Shrestha and Kridix won bronze.
In the championship held in Antalya, Turkey, Yaman Pandey won bronze in the 18+ kata category. The pair of Monalisa and Ira Gautam won bronze in group kata. The team of Suresh Parajuli, Yaman Pandey, Monalisa and Shivahari Rai won bronze in self-defense. Anjana Shahi, Yaman Pandey, Monalisa and Shivahari won silver in mixed self-defense (men and women).
Anjana Shahi and Monalisa won bronze in self-defense. On the second day, in the junior submission category, Kridix Bikram won silver while Monalisa, Sulabh Shrestha and Aira Gautam won bronze.
16 players and officials from Nepal are participating in the competition. The Nepali team is coached by Anjana Shahi.
