The International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) have set a deadline for the National Sports Council (NSC) to withdraw its decision to suspend the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).

The two highest bodies of international football have written a letter asking the three-month suspension imposed on ANFA back to April 21. FIFA and the AFC have asked for it to be withdrawn, saying that the NSC's decision to suspend ANFA interfered with ANFA's autonomy.

They have also been interpreting the NSC's decision to suspend ANFA as third-party interference. After the NSC's suspension, the ANFA's election scheduled for Chaitra 13 in Jhapa was also postponed.

The letter also said that the situation would be complicated if the NSC's decision was not withdrawn within the specified date. It was also said that after FIFA and the AFC withdraw the NSC's decision, a solution could be found through dialogue with all stakeholders. ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai and other ANFA officials had reached the NSC on Thursday and submitted the letter from FIFA and AFC.

After discussions with the NSC, General Secretary Rai said, 'Although the NSC is positive about lifting the suspension, an additional meeting will have to be held to resolve the problem. In the meeting, we had requested to save Nepali football. Time has been given until April 21 to lift the suspension, and in this regard, I have seen a situation where further talks with the NSC are necessary.'
