A marathon race is going to be held from the famous religious site Manakamana Temple to Gorkha Durbar. District Sports Development Committee Chairman Prem Bahadur Tamang said that runners from 11 districts of Gandaki Province will participate in the competition to be held on Baisakh 14. According to him, there will be a 42.195-kilometer men's/women's marathon from Manakamana to Gorakhkali Temple. Tamang said that there will also be a 5-kilometer women's/men's race from Manakamana to Jumli Chautara and a 10-kilometer women's/men's race from Manakamana to Tinmane. The District Sports Development Committee has stated that 1/1 female and male athlete from 11 districts of Gandaki Province will participate in all three events. 

Players affiliated with other provinces and representing the same provincial department and people working in any department will not be allowed to participate in the competition. The first place winner in both the women's/men's categories in the marathon will receive 55,000, the second place winner 30,000 and the third place winner 20,000. Similarly, a consolation prize of Rs 5,000 has been arranged for 2/2 people. 

The route for the marathon race has been fixed from Manakamana Temple to Taklung-Tinmane-Ghairung-Namjung-Kaulebhangar-Bunkot-Dhunggadhe-Ahale Bhanjyang-Barah Temple, Hospital Chowk-Harmatari-Bus Park-BP Chautara-Thulo Angan-Satipipal-Gairikuwa-Hunuman Than (Gorakhkali Temple).

The first place winner in the 10-kilometer category (women/men) will receive Rs 30,000, the second place winner will receive Rs 20,000, and the third place winner will receive Rs 10,000. 

The first place winner in the 5-kilometer category (women/men) will receive Rs 15,000, the second place winner will receive Rs 7500, and the third place winner will receive Rs 5,000. 

Six people will be selected for the national sports competition from the competition organized by the District Sports Development Committee and financially supported by the Provincial Sports Council, Gandaki. 

Tamang said that runners from Gandaki Province will be selected to participate in the national sports competition. It is estimated that the cost of conducting the competition will be Rs. 1.215 million.
