Cricket Excellence Center (CEC) Kathmandu has won the Gaurishankar Super League U-17 Boys Cricket Tournament. CEC won the title by defeating Angels Sports Academy by 36 runs in the final on Wednesday.
After winning the toss, CEC elected to bat and scored 105 runs in 20 overs after losing all their wickets. Dinesh Bohra batted aggressively and scored 27 runs in just 10 balls with the help of 2 fours and 3 sixes. Buddhiman Bista scored 19 and captain Prasid Jaisi scored 17 runs. Dhiraj Yadav and Prahlad Gautam of Angels took 2 wickets each.
Chasing a target of 106 runs, Angels Sports were all out for 69 runs in 18.2 overs. Vishal Iyer scored 21 runs but no other batsman could reach double figures.
Dinesh Bohra of CEC also performed well with the bowling. He took 3 wickets for 12 runs. Aniket Singh took 2 wickets.
CAN Secretary Paras Khadka, Nakhep member Jagat Tamata, Gaurishankar Rural Municipality Vice-Chairman Uma Magar Sherpa, Kedar Khadka and others felicitated the players.
Dinesh Bohra was named Man of the Match. Sandeep Saud (Angels Academy) was named Player of the Tournament, Joy Thapa (Angels) was named Best Batsman and Simon Pant (Nexus Cricket Academy) was named Best Bowler.
The winner received a cash prize of Rs 101,000 and the runner-up received Rs 41,000.
